Kumbie Mtunga
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
My passion for this work has always been rooted in people, not spreadsheets or markets, but the lives behind the numbers. I find purpose in the relationships I’ve built over the years, walking alongside clients as they navigate major decisions, personal transitions, and long-term goals. Financial planning, at its best, isn’t just technical, it’s personal. It’s about trust, empathy, and helping people move forward with clarity and confidence.
CHARITY
Kumbie believes in giving back through education and service. He has volunteered with Junior Achievement, teaching students the foundations of economics and financial decision-making. He also remains connected to his alma mater, Whittier College, where he supports mentorship initiatives and conversations around leadership and planning.
FAMILY
Kumbie comes from a large, globally connected family. His cousins live on every continent except South America. That sense of community grounds him and shapes the way he approaches client relationships. He treats every family he works with as if they were his own.
PLAY
Outside the office, Kumbie can often be found on the water. He is a certified sailing instructor and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He’s also passionate about the arts, whether it’s drawing, painting, or discovering old great films. He believes a balanced life fuels better thinking and deeper connection.
